Getting serious up in here

I’ve spent the better part of the week finishing up a giant chart to track my progress on my writing goals. I’m hoping this is a good investment, because I certainly didn’t get any actual writing done. Here it is!

In fact, of the several hours I spent making this chart, I spent probably three quarters of them questioning the decision to make the thing at all. But I think there are two keys to achieving a goal, especially resolutions–don’t let yourself forget about them, and don’t stop trying for them just because you fail once, or lapse once, or whatever. And this chart is designed to hit the first part. It’s up right above my monitor, and I can’t sit at my computer without seeing it.

Here’s hoping I don’t stare at it instead of actually writing! Because I really love these little month icons that I drew…
